65 Years of Manufacturing Experience

Komete was born from over sixty-five years of experience in the manufacturing and engineering consulting sectors.
Over this time, we have witnessed three major shifts that made change inevitable:
the transition from mass production to high-mix, low-volume models, the emergence of new global players that took much of our industry by surprise, and the lack of evolution in traditional software systems, still focused on machine efficiency rather than flow efficiency.

From this experience came a clear conviction: in an increasingly competitive global market, success no longer depends on the machines themselves, but on the ability to manage the factory system intelligently as a whole.
Technology can, and must, be the tool to make this possible.

2021

The Birth of Komete

In 2021, Komete began its journey of validation, incubation, and early technological development.
After receiving its first recognitions, including winning Startup Lombardia 2021, being selected in the EIT Manufacturing EVO-R Call, and reaching the finals of the National Innovation Award, Komete joined the Bocconi for Innovation program, which supported its growth and became one of its first institutional investors.

During this phase, the first use cases were defined and the initial pilot projects with manufacturing companies were launched.
This marked the creation of Komete’s first technological core: a plug-and-play IoT platform for the real-time tracking of production orders and materials, designed to provide immediate visibility and improve the coordination of factory workflows.

2024-today

Komete Grows

Since 2024, Komete has entered a new phase of growth and technological maturity.
With the product development completed, the company has obtained two invention patents.

This growth is supported by strategic partnerships with organizations such as Capgemini, UniCredit Start Lab, EIT Manufacturing, and Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center, as well as by projects with major industrial groups.

These collaborations have helped refine Komete’s value proposition: enabling high–value manufacturing companies to easily manage the complexity of production flows while improving delivery performance, traceability, and overall efficiency.

Today, Komete is expanding rapidly in the Italian market, supported by a strong industrial ecosystem and continuous product evolution that now includes AI capabilities and predictive analytics.
The goal remains the same as ever: to make our factories more flexible and competitive.

VISION

Smart Factory Made Easy

Komete was born with a vision: to transform our high-value-added factories through simple, accessible technology.
Komete is the nervous system of the factory, where every flow (materials, orders, and information) is visible, synchronized, and efficient.
When everything is connected and coordinated, the factory gains a competitive edge: the ability to anticipate and react in real time.
We see IoT and AI as concrete, accessible tools that give our factories real superpowers: efficiency, agility, and control.
Komete wants to make digitalization simple, fast, and useful, because technology shouldn’t complicate. It should simplify.

MISSION

Giving our industry back its competitive edge

The industrial sector is the foundation of our societies’ prosperity and security.
But today our high-value-added manufacturing faces growing global competition, high costs, and ever-tighter margins.
We no longer hold a monopoly on industrial capacity: the same machines are used all over the world.
To stay at the forefront, we must be more flexible, faster, and smarter in how we manage production flows.
Our mission is to help manufacturing companies regain a structural competitive edge through better orchestration of their flows and effective management of modern complexity and variability.
We do this with plug & play IoT and AI technologies, easy to implement and able to turn complexity into efficiency, control, and lasting value.
